Drama Club
Drama is one of the newest additions to our extra-curricular activities. Students from all year groups worked together to perform a number of short plays and scenes throughout the year.
The performances showed great dedication and commitment from students and were a huge success. We look forward to continuing to grow and develop our Drama Club in the future.
Music Activities
Columba College offers a range of music activities to complement classroom learning and support the development of confidence and self-esteem in students.
The Ukulele Band and Guitar Club provide students with the opportunity to learn a new instrument, improve their musical skills, and perform at school events throughout the year. These activities also allow students who may not study Music as an exam subject to become involved in performing arts during their lunch break and throughout the school year.
Columba College also offers Choir as an extracurricular activity during the school day. Each year, the school choir performs within the local community, including visits to nursing homes, which is a highlight for many students involved.
Public Speaking & Debating
Public Speaking and Debating are growing activities within Columba College, with students participating in competitions such as the Soroptimist Public Speaking Competition and the LWETB Debating Competition.
These activities encourage students to express their opinions confidently and engage with social, political, and global issues.
School Musical
Columba College has recently begun performing school musicals, mainly organised and performed by our Transition Year students. The entire school community becomes involved, giving students with an interest in the Performing Arts the opportunity to participate and showcase their talents.
Students gain a unique and rewarding experience while also contributing to their cognitive, social, and emotional development. The school musical is proudly performed in the Mullingar Arts Centre.
